World Health Organization publications on HTLV-1

After several years of hard work by many in the HTLV field, World Health Organization (WHO) has released several publications summarizing the current evidence and recognizing the public health impact of HTLV-1.
The following documents were developed as outputs from the WHO Global Consultation on HTLV-1 hosted by the National Centre for Global Health and Medicine, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, from 13-15 November 2019:

WHO Department of Global HIV, Hepatitis and STIs (HHS) Programmes, also conducted a “HTLV-1 technical update webinar” on 17 March 2021. The webinar covered the latest technical update on HTLV-1 including the epidemiological data, screening and diagnosis, disease syndromes and management, prevention strategies, community perspectives and the role of WHO’s and partners.
